GizmoGrind is a peer-to-peer marketplace that connects buyers and sellers directly. When you purchase a device through our marketplace,
you're buying from an individual seller or verified partner, not from GizmoGrind directly. However, every purchase is protected by
PayPal Buyer Protection and backed by our commitment to fair transactions.
Most marketplace sales are successful, but if you encounter an issue, this policy explains your rights, the return process,
and how we help resolve disputes.
When Returns Apply
Sellers Must Accept Returns For:
- Item not as described: Device doesn't match the listing description, condition, or photos
- Wrong item received: You received a different product than what was ordered
- Defective or unusable: Device has functional issues not disclosed in the listing
- Misrepresented condition: Actual condition is significantly lower than listed
- Never shipped or lost: Item hasn't arrived and seller cannot provide proof of delivery
- Missing accessories: Seller promised accessories that weren't included
Buyer's Remorse (Seller Discretion):
Sellers are not required to accept returns for:
- Change of mind or buyer's remorse
- Found a better deal elsewhere
- Personal preference changes
- Device works as described but you simply don't want it
Some sellers may voluntarily accept these returns, but it's at their discretion. Always communicate respectfully with your seller.
Return Timeframe
You have 180 days from the date of purchase to request a return through PayPal Buyer Protection if the item
is not as described or has undisclosed issues.
However, we encourage you to inspect your device promptly upon delivery and contact the seller within the first
30 days if you discover any problems. Earlier communication leads to faster resolution.
Return Process
If you need to return an item, follow these steps:
Step 1: Contact the Seller
Reach out to the seller through your order details page. Clearly explain the issue and provide photos if applicable.
Most sellers want to make things right and will work with you to resolve the issue.
Expected Response Time: Sellers should respond within 24-48 hours.
Step 2: Prepare the Device for Return
If the seller agrees to accept the return, you must prepare the device properly:
- Factory reset the device and remove all personal data
- Remove all accounts: iCloud, Google, Samsung, carrier locks, etc.
- Package securely with all included accessories
- Do NOT include SIM cards or personal items
Important: Returns may be rejected if the device is not factory reset or accounts are not removed.
Step 3: Ship the Device Back
Ship the device to the return address provided by the seller:
- Always use a trackable shipping method
- Purchase shipping insurance for the item's value
- Save your tracking number and shipping receipt
- Provide the tracking number to the seller

Step 4: Receive Your Refund
Once the seller receives and inspects the returned device, they will issue a full refund through PayPal.
Refunds typically appear in your account within 5-7 business days.
Step 5: Escalate if Needed
If the seller is unresponsive or refuses to cooperate:
- Contact GizmoGrind support at support@gizmogrind.com
- Provide your order number and details of the issue
- We'll review the situation and guide you through next steps
- If necessary, we'll advise you to open a PayPal dispute
Return Shipping Costs
Seller Pays Return Shipping
When the issue is the seller's responsibility:
- Item not as described
- Wrong item shipped
- Defective or unusable device
- Misrepresented condition
- Missing promised accessories
The seller should reimburse you for reasonable return shipping costs.
Buyer Pays Return Shipping
When the return is buyer-initiated:
- Buyer's remorse
- Change of mind
- Found a better deal
- Personal preference
You are responsible for return shipping costs if the seller voluntarily accepts the return.
PayPal Buyer Protection
Every GizmoGrind marketplace purchase is protected by PayPal Buyer Protection.
This is one of GizmoGrind's standout featuresβan added layer of security that isn't always available on other peer-to-peer marketplaces.
What's Covered:
- Item Not Received: Full refund if your purchase never arrives and the seller can't provide proof of delivery
- Significantly Not as Described: Protection if the item you receive is materially different from the listing
- 180-Day Protection Window: You have up to 180 days from purchase to file a claim
When to File a PayPal Dispute:
File a PayPal dispute only if:
- The seller is unwilling to work with you toward a resolution
- The seller is unresponsive after 48 hours
- You and the seller cannot reach a mutual agreement
- GizmoGrind support has advised you to escalate the issue
How to File a Dispute:
- Log into your PayPal account
- Go to the Resolution Center
- Select "Report a Problem"
- Choose the transaction and describe the issue
- Upload photos and provide evidence
- PayPal will mediate between you and the seller
Important Warning: No Chargebacks
Do NOT reverse payments or file chargebacks directly with your bank or credit card company without explicit
permission from GizmoGrind support. Doing so bypasses PayPal Buyer Protection and may result in your GizmoGrind account being
restricted or permanently terminated. Always use PayPal's dispute resolution process first.
Seller Responsibilities
Sellers on GizmoGrind have the following obligations regarding returns:
Must Accept Returns When:
- Item was not accurately described in the listing
- Device has undisclosed defects or damage
- Wrong item was shipped to the buyer
- Item doesn't meet GizmoGrind's marketplace criteria
Response Requirements:
- Respond to buyer inquiries within 24-48 hours
- Provide a return address promptly if return is warranted
- Issue refund within 2-3 business days of receiving the returned item
- Reimburse return shipping costs when item was not as described
Refund Processing:
Sellers must issue full refunds through PayPal upon receiving returned items. Note that PayPal may require sellers to cover
PayPal transaction fees when issuing refunds, which may require additional account funding.
Preparing Your Device for Return
Before returning any device, you must complete these steps:
For iPhones and iPads:
- Back up your data to iCloud or computer
- Sign out of iCloud: Settings β Your Name β Sign Out
- Erase all content: Settings β General β Transfer or Reset β Erase All Content and Settings
- Remove device from Find My iPhone at icloud.com/find
For Android Phones and Tablets:
- Back up your data to Google Drive or computer
- Remove Google account: Settings β Accounts β Remove Account
- Remove Samsung account (if applicable)
- Factory reset: Settings β System β Reset β Factory Data Reset
For All Devices:
- Remove SIM card and memory card (keep these)
- Remove any screen protectors or cases (unless included in original sale)
- Include all accessories that came with the device
- Package securely to prevent damage during shipping
Important: Sellers may refuse to issue a refund if the device still contains your personal accounts or data.
Always factory reset and remove all accounts before returning.
