how do I deactivate Find my iPhone?

Find My iPhone is on most Apple products that can help you locate your device if stolen or lost, however it can also interfere with activating the device by a new owner. As a result, the device is effectively rendered a dummy phone and will have no value. To speed up the process we kindly ask that you deactivate iCloud from your device following these steps:

How to sign out of iCloud if you have your phone

  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap your name at the very top.
  • Scroll to the bottom and tap Sing Out.

How to sign out of iCloud Remotely through your browser

  • Open a browser and go to www.iCloud.com/find from any device. And sign in with the same Apple ID.
  • Click All devices at the very top.
  • Click the device you want to remove from your iCloud Account.
  • Click Remove from Account.

How to sign out of iCloud remotely (requires another iPhone you have access to that is signed in to the same iCloud account)

  • Open the Find My App.
  • Tap on devices at the very bottom.
  • Scroll to the bottom and tap Remove This Device.

When do I get paid?

As soon as we receive and inspect your device, we will pay you via your chosen method of payment:

  • Apple Gift Card: instant
  • PayPal: instant
  • Cheque: 5-10 business days

What methods of payment do you offer?

Choose from the following:

  • Apple gift card

  • Cheque

Do I need to send in the accessories with the device?

We strongly recommend including any accessories, however it is not mandatory and it will not affect your quote.

How do I prepare my device for shipping?

if You Choose To Ship It Yourself With Our Shipping Label (choose this option for faster payment)

Choose from the following:

  • Check your email for the prepaid label (check spam folder as well). Print and follow instructions on the label for how to apply
  • Wrap your device in newspaper or appropriate packaging. Use extra caution for the screen and the battery. Use tape if possible
  • Place in a box with any accessories and securely close the box
  • Drop it off to your nearest Canada Post Box or Office

If You Choose To Receive A Shipping Kit:

  • Your kit will arrive in the mail with all the goodies to ship your device
  • Follow instructions on securing your device
  • Place included shipping label squarely over existing label
  • Drop it off to your nearest Canada Post Box or Office

Do I have to pay for anything?

Absolutely not! We cover all expenses for the shipping process.

How long do I have to wait for my shipping kit?

It takes about 3-5 business days for you to receive your shipping kit.

How do I get my shipping label?

Once you accept an offer, you will receive an email within 24 hours with a printable shipping label. However, if you request a shipping kit, it will be delivered to your door with a prepaid shipping label inside.

How long do I have before I need to mail in my device?

We will honour our 30 day guarantee period from when you accept our offer.

I have three or more devices, how do I get paid for them?

You Have Two Options:

  • Make three separate requests
  • Upgrade to our Business Solutions department. Please email Business.Solutions@GizmoGrind.ca to receive tailored shipping arrangements

How do I cancel an order?

Want to cancel your transaction? No problem! Email us with the following information at inboundorders@gizmogrind.ca:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • The device

Make sure to use the same information you used to register with GizmoGrind.ca

How long do I have to Drop it off?

From the day you receive your shipping kit, you have 30 days to ship in you're device to receive your guaranteed price lock

What if I selected the wrong condition or GizmoGrind deem the device of lower value?

If there is no change to your value payment goes out automatically, however, if we have to downgrade the quote due to discrepancy in condition, we'll email you first with an option to accept the new quote or request your device return to you

How do I track the progress of my order?

Login to your GizmoGrind account, under My Account, you'll see a progress bar showing you where your device is, if it requires your attention or if payment has been released

How long till I get paid from when I ship in my device?

Our busy season is from September to December with processing times of 3-7 business days till payment from the day the item is shipped. Otherwise expect processing times of 2-4 business days
