Back in 2017, jailbreaker Max Bazaliy shows the jailbreak he figured out for watchOS 3 the bad news is he didn&#8217;t release the file to the public. So, watchOS 3 jailbreak <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to jailbreak an Apple watch series 3 2019, there&#8217;s some hope. Hacker and developer Tihmstar was successful in releasing an <a class=\"rank-math-link\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/tihmstar\/jelbrekTime\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">almost complete jailbreak<\/a> for the Apple watch series 3 running watchOS 4.1. Some have found it to still work on older Apple watches like Series 1 and Series 2 also running watchOS 4.1 with slight adjustments. For the already initiated, here&#8217;s how this apple watch  jailbreak works:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Gets tfp0 and stores it to hsp4<\/li><li>Exploits kernel using v0rtex<\/li><li>Applies h3lix kernel patches<\/li><li>Extracts bootstrap.tar<\/li><li>Remounts \/ as rw<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>With some modifications, Tihmstar&#8217;s Jailbreak will work for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>watchOS 3.x<\/li><li>watchOS 4.0-4.1<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p> Ethan Pepro has also been working on watchOS 5 jailbreak, but he has reportedly delayed its launch due to technical issues. No tools are available for WatchOS 6, 7 and newer. Thus, there is currently no option for an Apple watch series 6 jailbreak. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In all these cases, there is still little for users to celebrate. So, it may be possible to jailbreak the Apple Watch sometime in the future. Everything now is at the hands of jailbreakers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The real issue at the moment is that it is not possible to downgrade your Apple Watch firmware which makes it difficult to switch between jailbreak software. With a jailbroken watch, you will have more power and control over things limited by Apple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;ve spotted a jailbreak allowing customization for the calculator app, I couldn&#8217;t verify its validity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>User interface adjustments such as new widgets<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, you can have a widget that allows you to set specific alerts linked to contacts or even set up custom watch faces that have a practical purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Why_refrain_from_jailbreaking_your_Apple_Watch\"><\/span><strong>Why refrain from jailbreaking your Apple Watch?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Jailbreaking is very risky. Unless there is something you want to do with your iwatch that would require you to jailbreak it and you know what you are doing, then don\u2019t do it.
